I've been running teleports this morning to make some money for that Optical Hat run that is coming up. Doing this I've found a few tips to help those that do teleports for gil.
Thats about all I have for now, please post your suggestions on here too.
- Setup macros for everything from {Hello}{Nice to meet you} to your warp macro (and everything in between.
- When inviting somoene don't try to spell out their name. Just do a /sea followed by the first letters of the name and invite them from there.
- Be fast to invite and fast to teleport. This will help you beat your competition and build up a good reputation so that when someone wants a teleport they will actually search for oyu first and see if you're in Jeuno. It is a nice way to make friends.
- When inviting someone to join party don't wait to see the "Invite, Tell, etc" menu to come up. Instead press Enter on their name then Up then Enter and you will have just invited them without waiting for the menu to load.
- Use the F keys to lock onto your customer. This will make it easier to track them and harder for them to run past you without you knowing.
- Don't zone into your moghouse after teleporting to regain mana. Instead just /heal and by the time you get your next teleport you should have full MP. This saves you from missing a teleport shout as you zone.
- Don't shout that you are offering teleports, Jeuno really doesn't need more spam. Instead when someone else shouts just invite them quickly. There are exceptions to this: for example if it is extremly busy or you are offering rates lower than the going rates you may shout. Still, be careful and don't shout too much.
- Before you start teleporting decide on a rate to charge per teleport and don't charge less. For example if you decide on 2000g minimum and someone shouts for a 1000g teleport don't take it, this will only cause you to lower your prices eventually.
- Be polite. People still see teleporting as benefiting only the teleporter so instead of trying to fight that just accept it no matter how untrue it is. A /bow will go a long way here.
- If you are on PC and have windower running you can easily open a browser window and check differant website while you monitor your chat log for teleport requests.
- Avoid teleporting groups, they take way too long to organize and pay way too little.
- If someone doesn't offer to pay full price don't teleport them. Sometimes you will invite people and all of a suddon they are trying to pay 500g. Don't do it.
