I did not know how much money you would have to use for this class.
Katana level 1 cost 1 - 2k Katana level 7 cost 5 - 6k
and there moves cost more. Any tips on how to get this class leveled up?

ninja costs alot of gil, wait untill you get into the utsemi stages and then the elemental wheel stage i lost (after reselling gear) ~1.5million leveling from 20-37 and i had some incredible partys -.-. I would suggest farming like crazy. =/

ninja isn't cheap and theres no way to really cut very many corners when it comes to leveling it. Its easy to drop a 1-2 million Gil into it just getting to 37 for spells equipment and the powders they have to have. I would suggest questing as many ninja scrolls as you can such as tonko:ichi, kuryamia:ichi and utsumei:ichi (probably none of those spelled right but close enough those 3 can save you nearly a million Gil besides that farming a lot or take up fishing

sorry for picking up on an old topic here...^^; /blush I've been leveling Ninja quite alot recently (at level 63 at the moment) and I've noticed the best way to keep your gil costs to a minimum is to make sure you are having good parties. By that, I mean for example leveling with people you know, LS friends and the like, whom you are sure know what they are doing and are good at their job. An important factor for your success as a ninja is being able to tank without getting hit. Or at least get hit as little as possible. Having a good White Mage friend and a good Bard friend will make that job much easier. White Mages who knows how to haste you at the start of each fight, and cast -na spells properly, are priceless. A good bard who keeps the mobs elegied and makes sure you have songs on makes tanking as a ninja a breeze. Having a couple of melody earrings will boost your evasion SKILL by alot, making it even easier. All of this will make you use much fewer ninja tools (which is your largest gil sink anyway) than you would from a regular pickup party. In some cases, pickup parties can be as good, but in my experience, this happens rarely. Making good friends with and teaming up with reliable players is my best advice for people who want to level ninja an excel at it.

I agree with you totally! As blm, having a good tank is pretty important or my taru bones get smushed. I leveled with some friends of mine (nin, rng, whm) from 55 to around 67. It really was great because you don't have to wonder if the party will be good. It always is! (good to hear from you myst ^^ )

They key to lvling with good people is to level in a predictable fashion. For example, level every evening from 6-10 or something. You will find that when you do this you meet the same people over and over again, and at some point you get accustomed to each other. For example I've been lvling WAR lately and me and a JP WAR have a similar scheduale. Since our jobs work well together (duel WAR tanks are nice) we've been partying together a bit. It has gotten to the point where me and the JP war communicate better than the other members of the party.
A trick to this: don't suck. be the best at your job as you can be and you will find that the good people will always invite you back.

Nin does cost a lot of gil until lvl 37, but after that it's all profit. Meaning its the only class that you can solo almost anything decent challenge or less fast and little cost meaning that you can farm, mine, log in more areas fast and easier then on other jobs.
Take my nin.. I go to the Temple once or twice a month and make a good 4 mil just on whitesteel and other items. Farm and mine in Ifirts without any worries of getting aggro and dieing. It's a pretty good job if you have the time and energy to lvl it and do the quest and farm for the items that are more expensive in the at lower lvls.
