My smithing is like lvl 4,lol. What can i synthesise to lvl it up a bunch of levels without having to change what im synthing? Well, you can't really level all on one item. Each item/recipe(I say this because some items have more than one recipe) has a certain CAP level, in which it will cease to give you skill ups completely. As you get closer to this cap level, skill ups will decrease until it is reached. Then, you must find another recipe that caps higher, and use that. For Smithing, you can either go on to make Bronze Scales until Level 10, or a Facemask until Level 9. There aren't many options at that level that don't really lose money, but you shouldn't be losing too much money either. Scales suck because they never sell, so you can either try to find a synth to use them in, or NPC them while trying to sell a couple of stacks over time if possible. The faceguards will be slow, but should sell. However, if you are talking Goldsmithing, then I would suggest an entirely different route as the one above won't help you at all. Grab a moderately high level job(preferably a blm or /blm for -aga spells) and completely terrorize King Ranpaure's Tomb for worms. Don't take more equipment than you need, to maximize the space you have for the ores. You are looking for Zinc. The copper you can either synth on the spot if you have the crystals, or drop. Saintly rings sell for a decent spot of money too. However, you want to keep all the zinc that you get. Whenever you've filled up on those, head back to Bastok or wherever, and craft the following recipe: Fire Crystal Chunk Of Zinc Ore Chunk Of Copper Ore x3 You can either keep the Brass to use later, or sell it for a pretty good bit of money. Either way, this is the most cost efficient way to do it, and the way I went about it when I was that level. You save a lot of money, and can end up picking up a set of Battle gloves and a couple of rings along the way to sell. This synth caps at Level 9 Goldsmithing. You may way to use support for the first couple of levels.

thx for the help Haziko, that sounds like a good way to go, im always looking for a way to lvl my craft skills without losing money and that suggestion sounds like it could do just that. The only problem is i havnt done any gobbie bag quests yet so inventory is small. but if i synth stuff on the spot maybe things will work out. thx again for help.(:

Anytime, Dorant. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask them. I've only got gold to 20 at the moment, but I have a guide semi-written up for the treck to 100 whenever I finally take it. That, and I've been crafting for a while, so I'm always ready to give any advice needed.

Thanks for the help Haziko, i got my goldsmithing to level 8 now. (: I found that if i take the bronze ingots with a fire crystal i can make brass sheets wich sell for about 20,000 gil a stack, with a slow sell rate in sandoria. Once i get my goldsmithing to levle 10 ill need new suggestions on what to craft. You became my main source of info regarding goldsmithing so please post a good money making synthesis for when i reach goldsmithing level 10. And thanks again for the help. (:

Well, if you're up to it, you can actually level on those sheets until about Level 11.
But those sheets sell really slow, so you have to have patience.
After that, you go on to Silver Ingots Fire Crystal Silver Beastcoin x4
That will take you to level 18. I would use that until about 16, then switch to the ore recipe, which is about the same Fire Crystal Silver Orex4
ONLY BUY THE ORE FROM THE GUILD SHOP. You can get it for as low as 350-ish, and only but it for about 500 or less. Then sell it in bastok. Crafting is about patience, and you may have to travel, but you'll get more money in bastok and they'll sell faster. I used to make quite a bit of money this way, but things have changed a little too.
Don't forgot about your guild test that you must do to break your cap at 10

You really don't have to. You should break even by buying them from jueno, provided the price stays consistent. If you don't want to do that, then they can be stolen from second tier beastmen, if I remember right, or they may just drop.
Don't know too much information about them, sorry. Remember that you will have to lose money in some areas when crafting, but there is always a point where you can catch up on that loss.
