TeamSpeak is now available to BreganDaerthe members. To get just go through the instructions in the following email. You do NOT need to be running FFXI at the same time you are in TeamSpeak. It is a stand alone application and you can use it whenever you like, in the game or not.
The software does require a computer to install it to, however there is no reason you can't run it on a PC and play FFXI on a PS2. In order to talk to people you will need a microphone on your computer, however you only need speakers (or headphones) to listen to the conversation.
I anticipate this program being used in two ways. First, in social general chat. Guen and myself talk on the phone while we play all the time. This will let us free up the phone line and let everyone else join in our conversations. Second, when we do an event together we will likely use TeamSpeak to communicate between each other since it is a whole lot easier than typing.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this software.

TeamSpeak Download and Logging In Guide By: Xwind Step 1: Go to www.goteamspeak.com/index.php?page=downloads and download TeamSpeak. Follow the directions to download TeamSpeak. You will need to download the first option “TeamSpeak 2 Client”. YOU MAY WANT TO MAKE SURE YOUR PC MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS! (Alternate way: If you are typing the address in yourself and not clicking on the link provided go to www.goteamspeak.com and in the menu on the left choose downloads then continue to follow the directions above) Step 2: After downloading TeamSpeak, double-click on the icon that is your desktop (If you had an icon placed on your desktop. If not find it in your start menu) Step 3: Once you have the purplish/blue box open go to the menus on the top and click on connection and then connect. You should now have another box open that says “Connect To Server”. Step 4: Now that this new box is open right click anywhere in the white space and choose “add server” Step 5: In the box titled “Label” type in Bregan. Step 6: In the box titled “Server Address” type in 70.84.100.98:8851 Step 7: In the box titled “Nickname” type in your FFXI character name or another nickname you want to use while in TeamSpeak. Step 8: After “Nickname it gives 3 options to click in. You need to ONLY click in the circle next to the word “Anonymous” Step 9: DO NOT PUT IN A PASSWORD!! There is no server password so this is not needed. Step 10: Click on “connect” and enjoy. ***** If you have any problems please ask Haushinka or Xwind. You can send X a message at seekerginny@gmail.com or send an instant message on AIM: seekerginny or Yahoo: Seekergin if I am on either of those. I will get back to you as soon as possible tot solve the problem or I can call someone to help me.

I just figured I'd let you all know that we got TeamSpeak working and tested last night. Me, Xwind, Thown, and Vili all happened to get on together and got to test it out. It was pretty neat, now I just hope windower comes back up so it is easy to use and control while playing.

I think guen had the same exact problem when he first got on. I told him I don't think all his output volumes are turned all the way up and dirrected him to the control pannel and the sounds section. I'm not sure what all he changed but he did get it working even after he thought th e output was on max.

I think that is just setting the sensitivity level vili. or you can just setup a press to speak button.
