ok, so i'm level 50 now, and i can do the rest of my AF quests, but should i wait until i get a higher level to do them? or can i go do them now, i know that either way, i'll need help, so its probably best if i'm higher level so i dont need to rely so much on the help, right?

only hard part in getting RDM AF is probably the hat. that's the only time you'll need more help that just one or 2 high lvl players. btw the coffers are eldieme for gloves, garlaige for pants and castle O for tabard.

Ok, thank you guys, i wasnt sure, i know i can do the boots myself, i already have the key, and can do the stuff for that myself, but here is what i need help with:
Gloves: need to get the necropolis coffer key and coffer to get old gloves. go to jeuno and talk to some people, then go to Castle Zvhal at F-8 and pop Dark Spark kill him, then get the key item Shadow Flames and then return to jeuno.
Tights: (must have Glove quest logged) for this one, i need the garlaige coffer key and chest (i have the treasure chest key...is this good?) i get the tights out of the coffer.
Body: (must have glove quest logged) for this, i need to get the castle oztroja chest and coffer
Hat: (need to have glove quest finished) ok, last one, this one is quite confusing, and i dont wanna shorten it and accidently miss anything, so here it is (taken from ffxi.allakhazam.com): The quest, again begins with Curilla in Chateau d'Oraguille. She will ask you to continue your investigation on what had happened to Raimenard, her father. From there, go to Sharzalion in South San d'Oria again, and he will tell you that the only way to speak with a spirit that he knows of is too dangerous. This however does not stop his friend behind the bar from telling you how to do it because he wants to hear a good story!
You will be told that the only way is to throw an old coin into the Fountain in the ruins of Fei'Yin. Fei'Yin is located far to the North, at the Northern end of the Beaucidine Glacier. Once there, proceed north until you get to the large, central Fountain Room, which is at (H-8) on the first floor. In this room, there is a Notorious Monster named Miser Murphy. He spawns every time a Red Mage that is at that point in the quest enters that room. (If you are going to kill him enough times for every Red Mage, make sure they all are at that point in the quest, or else he will stop spawning).
Miser Murphy is about level 60ish, is a normal Ghost style monster, and is doable with about 6-12 level 56+. He is not very difficult, but can be rather.... obnoxious. Also watch your levels because the room is full of Revenants and Clockwork Pods and you do not want them to aggro you. When you kill Miser Murphy, he drops an Antique Coin. Trade the coin to the point at the North end of the fountain, also in (H-8). You will be treated to another event.
After the event, return to Sharzalion and tell him what you saw. Then speak with his friend behind the bar again. You will be told that they can not help you further, but maybe one of the other patrons can. If you speak to the Galka in the same bar, he will tell you, that while he was exploring Garlaige Citidel, he came upon a strange box that he was unable to open. However, with a Nail Puller you may be able to open it.
Now, head to Garlaige Citidel, bring alot of friends with you for this though, as this part can be rough. Immediately behind the first Banishing Gate in the rooms right there you will find an Oaken Box. Clear all the Undead from those rooms before you examine it though. When you do, Guardian Statue will spawn. It is recomended to have about 18 Level 55's or about 12 Level 60s for this part. Guardian Statue is a "Doll" type model, it CAN explode like a bomb, but I don't recall seeing this one do so. It also has an AE attack that does about 200-300 damage to everyone around. When it is dead, it will drop a "Nail Puller". Trade this to the Oaken Box and you will see yet another event.
Return to North San d'Oria at this point. As soon as you enter North San d'Oria, you will witness another event, complete the quest, and receive your Chapeau. Also, for an added bonus, you get the new title "Paragon of Red Mage Excellence".

I'm on M-F 6pm - 12pm, Sa-Su 9am-1am. Of course I sometimes find myself doing other things away from home but that is my general scheduale in a nut shell.

im sorry yuroni but the chest key is no good you need to have Coffer Keys and open Treasure Coffers. when we did the hat NMs we had falling 75sam, haus 74pld, guen 73rng, ginger 73whm, me 60rdm and xwind 55rdm. neither of the fights were really tough, no one died even once. no one even had to 2hr during either fights. a party of 70 can take both NMs with ease, or a balanced party of 75's and 50+'s

I think he was refering to the chest key for RDM AF2 where you need the Crawler's Nest Chest Key. You pop the Chest then you wait forever at some ???. That is all I remember about it; I remember helping Xwind with it.
As for the RDM AF3 fight for the Pimp Hat, we did own it with a party of 70s but I bet that a Nin or Thf would be able to solo Miser Murphy. The reason we had any trouble was because of the damn ghost, it had a HP drain ability that freaking owned me. All I remember is getting hit for like 150 a hit and having it drain that much life every other attack. Luckily I had ginger and a whole army of RDMs to keep me alive and Guen and Falling cleaned house on the thing.
As for the pot NM you have to fight for RDM AF3, that one is easily tanked by a pld. I'm sure a nin could do it too as they frequently tank pots in sky, but it did spam AoE moves. That really wasn't the problem, luckily this NM stung like a butterfly instead of a bee however the pot's HP were {Imposible to Gauge}. The fight lasted a good 5 min with Guen and I spamming TP attacks on the mob. A 70+ RNG hits very hard.... probably around 1000-1500 damage a Sidewinder. And I was setting up a Detonation SC for him with Vorpal Blade which added another 500 or so damage. Despite all of that it did take a while to die. This one was more a test of endurance than anything else.
Oh, and by the way, I've already decided that when we finish RDM AF for you Yuro this topic is going to be moved into the RDM Job Discussion section as it provides a lot of very useful information on AF for RDM. So lets try to keep this post clean (as we have already) and please everyone feel free to add as much info as you like. As you get each piece of your AF you should post here and let us know what was involved in it and how many jobs it took. That sort of a thing.
Good job on starting a very informative topic!
