then just throw more blms at it cause if the resistance is the type of mag def +50%, then just use twice as many blms am i sharp or what?

yeah in the update details S-E said that you wouldnt notice it with just 2 or 3 BLMs in a party, but if you had more, the accumulated resistance would become an issue. maybe cyd's had some experience with this?

lol well every time it gets hit with a nuke, the magic resistance increases. So if you throw enough blms at it, the nukes will start hitting for like 1 dmg lol.
I can say that for a lot of things, the big nerf doesn't have a big effect. I can say that we didn't notice a different with KSNM30, which is, traditionally, manaburned. All our nukes still hit for full dmg...
In sky, blms tend not to nuke a lot since gods have high magic resistance already. I have yet to fight Kirin, but with the other gods it doesn't affect blm too much. Mnks are the most annoyed with the nerf because their chi blast isn't quite as effective on gods. However, the big nerf didn't seem to affect as much as people though. I don't think anyone will be manaburning divine might anymore though >.>

I find it intriguing how melees need blms for their ksnm runs, sky farming, divine might, HNMs etc. etc... yet they leave us completely stranded for merit parties I know exactlly how you feel. As PLD it is the same situation, we are needed for many of the fast hitting mobs with high acc but in merit PTs we are forced to sub nin and DD and attempt to tank with flash.

within my last 3 pts i have had a blm, since i got parser i have noticed that the blm is doing less damage than me(thf) and the DD/1st voker coming in 3rd, i would suspect the blm to be doing the most damage so maybe blm arnt so great(just a thought) i will still invite blms for they have much to offer, mainly warp 2 ><

BLM typically parse the worst. They can hit the high numbers one fight but then the next do little damage. I find that on average they need to hold back too much because since their damage comes all in one or two spells instead of spread out over the entire fight they pull too much hate plus blm don't have the survivability when they do pull hate.

In my opinion ToAU is extremely anti-blm. Colibri have reflect and resist about 60% of the time. Cant over nuke cause you will either kill the tank or yourself and so your stuck with being a gimp healer and mostly everything else is reduced to TP burn style parties. SE Gave us 1 area to level and its only about 4 camps for high level BLM's to exp at. Im currently 73 BLM and from 54 to Present I have had to solo about 75% of the time. So like the title says SE has no love for BLM

My BLM is highly underlevelled at about 25, lol, not sure that I will ever take it to 37 to sub for whm.

Ya Rane and when you get parties it's only manaburn parties right?
Orac, you use SMN as sub for your WHM?

Yeah only Manaburn, manaburn is nice don't get me wrong , but its extremely boring, what i wouldn't give for a normal party in a non ToAU area

I hear ya Rane. I bet many others who have high lvl BLMs think the same way.
