sounds like you need to make sure your cds a clean and no greesy fingerprints on em b4 u put em in the drive. maybe spend $0.99 on an eye glasses cleaning cloth. these are lint free cloths that work well for cleaning CDs (and CPUs but dont use it on CDs after cleaning a CPU with it).
Either that or you tend to leave the drives on with CDs in them. I do that to my DVD players and burn em out quickly. If the disk is in and spinning its using the motor, those motors only have a limited life span so it will burn out after you use it for a while.
I usually go through a DVD player every year leaving my DVD player on 16 hours a day. So maybe if you leave the 360 on 24/7 with a CD in it the thing has burnt out already. If it has its got to be covered under manufacturer warenty I would think. You prob just have to pay for the shipping to send it to Microsoft.

Seems i learned something. I did ALWAYS leave my drive on, becuase i would play a game quit the game and talk on the 360 dashboard. But it was not on for 24/7 and it only lasted about 3 months meanin xbox 360 has a SUCKY ASS DRIVE becuase everyone seems to have this problem. But thanks for info.
